What are the differences between various access control devices?
Access control gates can be seen everywhere in daily life, such as at factory entrances, residential communities, hotel corridors, and most commonly at subway station entrances and exits.
Many venues are now using intelligent access control systems for management. Among so many types of access control devices, do you know what differences exist between them?
Let’s take a look together with Zhongyang Machinery to understand the features of these access control gates.
First, let’s learn what an intelligent flap barrier is and how it achieves smart management.
Flap barriers come in various elegant designs and are made from different materials, most commonly SUS 204 and SUS 304 stainless steel. Yantuoli’s standard model uses SUS 304 stainless steel.
The structure of a flap barrier consists of a cabinet, mechanism, military-grade encoder, infrared sensors, controller, and other software components.
It can also be expanded with various applications according to user needs, such as fingerprint access control, facial recognition, palm recognition, and QR code scanning.
Its intelligent and user-friendly design is reflected in its dual infrared and mechanical anti-pinch protection. When a pedestrian is detected in the passage, the flaps will not close. Once the person leaves, the flaps automatically close. If an obstacle is encountered during the closing process, the flaps will automatically rebound or the motor will stop within a set time, applying minimal force while triggering an audible and visual alarm.
The speed gate, also known as a swing barrier, manages entry and exit by swinging its doors forward and backward. In addition to having all the features of a flap barrier, it also enhances its own performance.
Features of the speed gate include:
- The gate opening and closing time can be as fast as 0.2 seconds. The faster the speed, the higher the throughput. This timing can be adjusted according to the user’s site requirements.
- The swing doors of the speed gate are made of 10mm thick tempered glass, offering an elegant appearance, smooth operation, and ultra-quiet performance.
